Jammu and Kashmir Hill Station Jammu and Kashmir Tour Package

Overview

This 8-day Kashmir valley tour begins and ends in Srinagar, combining city sightseeing with excursions to some of the region’s major mountain destinations. The opening day covers Shankaracharya Temple, Chashme Shahi, Pari Mahal, Nishat Bagh, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, Hazratbal Shrine and Lal Chowk. The itinerary brings together Srinagar’s gardens, religious landmarks, viewpoints and local market experience.

Days 2 and 3 focus on two classic Kashmir excursions from Srinagar. The Gulmarg day includes the Gondola experience towards Kongdoori and Affarwat, while the Sonamarg excursion continues to Thajiwas Glacier. Both days return to Srinagar for overnight stays, keeping the itinerary centered around the city while covering its surrounding mountain landscapes.

Day 4 takes the journey to Doodhpathri, where the itinerary focuses on its open meadows, streams and surrounding pine, fir and cedar forests. The following day continues to Yusmarg, with countryside and fruit-growing landscapes along the way before exploring the meadow and Nilnag Lake. These two excursions add quieter valley experiences alongside the more established Kashmir sightseeing stops.

On Day 6, the route leaves Srinagar for Pahalgam through a series of local and heritage experiences. The itinerary includes a saffron cultivation visit, a dry fruits stop, traditional willow cricket bat craftsmanship, and the Avantipura Ruins. A seasonal apple orchard walk and time beside the Lidder River lead into Pahalgam, followed by local market exploration and an overnight stay.

Day 7 explores Pahalgam’s principal valley attractions, including Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari. The return journey towards Srinagar includes the historic Martand Sun Temple, adding a heritage stop to the day’s mountain and valley sightseeing.

The final night is spent in Srinagar before departure on Day 8. Overall, the route combines Srinagar sightseeing with repeated scenic excursions to Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpathri and Yusmarg, followed by a Pahalgam stay and valley exploration, making it a broad Kashmir itinerary built around both popular destinations and quieter landscapes. The Jammu & Kashmir Places to Visit hub can also be used to explore additional destination and attraction pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gulmarg and Sonamarg are planned as excursions from Srinagar on Days 2 and 3, with both days ending back in Srinagar. This keeps the early part of the trip centered in Srinagar before the itinerary moves to Doodhpathri, Yusmarg and later Pahalgam.

Day 4 is dedicated to Doodhpathri, described as the Valley of Milk. The itinerary focuses on its meadows, streams and surrounding pine, fir and cedar forests, and also includes the local Sheikh-ul-Alam legend. The page places Doodhpathri at an elevation of 8,957 feet.

Yes. Day 5 includes a Yusmarg excursion followed by a visit to nearby Nilnag Lake. The itinerary presents the area as a quieter nature experience suitable for walks, photography and time among the surrounding landscapes before returning to Srinagar.

The Yusmarg day includes a stop at the Sofee Shrine, described on the page as one of the oldest spiritual sites reflecting Kashmir's heritage. It is combined with countryside and fruit-growing landscapes encountered during the excursion.

Yes. The Yusmarg excursion includes a visit to what the page describes as Kashmir's largest fruit valley, with orchards and countryside views. Later, on the Srinagar to Pahalgam route, the itinerary also includes a seasonal apple orchard walk.

Day 6 adds several local-interest stops rather than only treating the journey as a transfer. These include Kesar Garden for traditional saffron cultivation, a dry fruits hub, a willow cricket bat factory and the historic Avantipura Ruins before arrival in Pahalgam.

Yes. Avantipura Ruins are included on Day 6 while travelling from Srinagar toward Pahalgam. The page describes the site as historic 9th-century temple remains dedicated to Lord Vishnu, making it a distinct heritage stop within the valley journey.

The apple orchard walk is scheduled on Day 6 between the heritage and local-produce stops and arrival in Pahalgam. Because the itinerary identifies the orchard experience as seasonal, the availability of fresh apples should not be assumed for every travel date.

Day 7 covers Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari before the journey continues toward Srinagar. The same day also includes the historic Martand Sun Temple, followed by Srinagar hotel check-in and an overnight stay.

Chandanwari is listed as a sightseeing stop on Day 7. The page identifies it as the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra and includes it alongside Aru Valley and Betaab Valley during the Pahalgam sightseeing portion.

The route combines major excursions such as Gulmarg and Sonamarg with less-standard valley experiences at Doodhpathri and Yusmarg. It then adds Pahalgam, local craft and produce stops, and heritage sites, creating a mix of mountain scenery, countryside, culture and history.

The package states that outside vehicles are not permitted beyond the designated parking area in Gulmarg. Local transportation is required for the Gondola station and internal sightseeing under Local Taxi Union regulations, and the applicable local charges are payable directly by the guest.

No. The package specifically states that local sightseeing in Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Gulmarg and Gurez is operated by the respective Local Taxi Unions. Where a local union vehicle is mandatory, the applicable charge is payable directly by the guest.

Yes. The package states that additional or changed sightseeing, vehicle use, route deviations or itinerary changes caused by weather, road closures, natural calamities, government regulations or operational conditions may be arranged where feasible and charged separately at applicable rates.
